Wie genau funktioniert "find my mobile"?

Ich habe mir die App jetzt heruntergeladen, aber wie funktioniert es dann falls ich mein Handy verliere ? Wenn ich es über Web oder Email wieder finden will ? Und muss GPS immer aktiviert sein ?
