Martin Luther King Jr. was born in Atlanta, so in Georgia on 15th of January in 1929. He was an important person in the past since he was the leader of the African American civil rights movement and peace movement. He fought for the rights of both African Americans and white Americans after the civil war. Furthermore, he said that he had a dream and this speech has influenced the government of the U.S. because he wanted to reach the goal that every human should have the same rights. He organized a march on Washington to protest against the rights of blacks. He even won a nobel prize in 1964 as he did it that both African American and white Americans have had the same rights. Sadly, he was shot in the Lorraine hotel in Memphis on 4th of April in 1964 which is part of a American civil rights museum now. The Martin Luther King day is celebrated every third Monday in January now.
